Professional Philosophy

Jonna is a physical therapist, who has over 25 years of experience working with neurological, orthopedic, pre/post partum, sports injury patients as well as private clients in the area of fitness and Pilates. Her recent area of expertise is manual orthopedics of the spine and extremities with emphasis on muscle energy techniques and functional core therapeutic exercise. She owns Central California Physical Therapy Specialists as well as a Pilates based fitness center, called Integrated Fitness. She believes that physical therapists/assistants can offer the best care in helping patients resume pain free movement patterns at all levels of function.   Her favorite exercise is bridging and her goal is for patients it to be able to get out of a chair or off the toilet with no help! “I have always worked in direct patient care and love getting my hands on people.  As a society we are less mobile than ever and it is my goal to reverse that aging process by keeping patients mobile and strong so we don’t have any ‘death by sitting’”. She has accepted the position of Program Director to develop Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at the College of the Sequoia.   Her goal is to give back to the Physical Therapy profession by training students to find a meaningful career in providing quality care to patients.  Jonna most recently completed her Ed. D with the focus of her research on how to predict the pass rate on the NPTE for PTA applicants.
