GEOG 1 Physical Geography

GEOG 1L Physical Geography Laboratory

GEOG 2 World Regional Geography

Students of geography can learn about both physical and cultural phenomena.  Geographers locate items on maps and try to explain their distribution.

All geography classes emphasize human activity on the surface of the earth and their modification of the landscape.  Geography classes also promote global awareness which is increasingly relevant as technological advances increase the interdependency among nations.

All geography classes are transferable to four-year colleges and meet general education requirements.  In addition, they fulfill requirements for an Associate of Arts Degree at COS.

The Geography Program also offers travel classes through the Community Services Program.  Destinations for travel may include Death Valley, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone Glacier National, Zion, Alaska, or Europe.
