Pathway to Law School

Pathway Program:

Provides a preferred pathway from College of the Sequoias to a university and then to Law School.
Council on Access and Fairness (COAF) Scholars will be provided the needed access and information to the law school admission process.

COAF Scholars will receive:

  • Mentoring
  • Counseling
  • Internships

  • UC Irvine School of Law / UC Irvine

What classes do I need to take at COS as part of the Pathway Program?

  • Social Science 50: Street Law
  • English 1: College Composition
  • English 2: Logic and Composition or Philosophy 25: Critical Thinking
  • Communication 5: Argumentation & Debate
  • History 17: People of the U.S. to 1877 or History 18: People of the U.S. from 1865
  • Political Science 5: Federal, State, and Local Government
  • Math 21: College Statistics or Social Science 25: Statistics for Social  Sciences
What else is required as part of the Pathway to Law School Program?
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.2
  • Participation in the following Extracurricular Activities:
    • Debate Competitions
    • Active club member in the Society of Legal Studies
    • Visits to Various Law School Campuses and participating university campuses
    • Legal Writing Competitions
    • Local County Bar and Judges events​
